PRESS RELEASE 1
Codemotion Berlin 2013 lässt Developer Herzen schneller schlagen

Press Release 2
BEYOND THE CODE, THERE IS EMOTION
What Codemotion is
Beyond the code, there is emotion
Codemotion is an innovative tech event engaging developers of all languages and technologies in presentations and conversations about: Mobile, Web, Makers, Startup Ideas, Trends, Sustainability, Game Dev and Creative Coding. Next to re:publica and Heureka our brandnew format „Codemotion Berlin“ is another main-hightlight of the Berlin Web Week Festival 2013.
Why we choose the approach of „all programming languages“ VS exploring “one specific”!
The IT World keeps on changing faster and faster. Every day we have to deal with different technologies. Our working ambient is demanding flexibility and versatility in order to develop and run projects which often are based on diffe- rent languages. This is why we organise a “cross-language” event which gives space to different approaches, topics and programming languages.
Listen, discuss and grow your experience learning from the other attendees.
Structure of Codemotion
Codemotion is a 3 day event with one day dedicated to workshops and two days of Conference.
Thursday, 09.05.2013 – Codemotion Workshops
The first day of Codemotion is dedicated to workshops in order to explore and learn more about certain methods and programing languages. Following the list of our Workshops:
- Implementing layouts using CSS3 and HTML5 (Chris Mills)
- Work Better Together Than Alone, With Git and GitHub (Brent Beer)
- Arduino meets Wearables (Zoe Romano, Mika Satomi, Hannah Perner-Wilson)
- iOS/PureData Audio Workshop (Brio Taliaferro)
- Digital Fabrication: How to Run Workshops for Kids (Stefania Druga)
- Fifty Shades of Shaders (Raphaël de Courville, Raffael Ziegler aka Moco, Maximilian Mittermeier)
Friday & Saturday, 10-11.05.2013 – Codemotion Conference
The 2 days Conference Agenda is a full immersion of technical talks created with the help of developer communities, including a public call for papers.
- Thematic tracks with 40 minutes talks: Talks will be divided in different paths such as creative coding, makers, web and mobile, innovation and big data.
- Labs and Meetups: Communities, user groups and companies will help exploring specific topics and technologies during labs and meet-up with a duration of 2 to 3 hrs.
- Hackathon: The Codemotion Hackathon will focus on Green Tech, Creative Coding and Makers — you choose bet- ween Hardware and Software Hacks. The Theme „Hard and Soft: All watched over by Machines of Loving Grace“ is based on a 1967 poem by Richard Brautigan. People are invited to interpret the theme as they want but we would love to see hacks combining the concept of nature and IT.
- Startup-in-Action and Maker-Expo-Area: Within these Areas Codemotion will host startup and maker projects to showcase ideas and concepts related to the latest trends and innovations. Get your hands on laser printer, arduino and other maker projects, talk to people and startup, exchange experiences and pass on your knowledge because “Beyond the code there is emotion!”.
